Woodland Park provides a short and easy walk with benches, a picnic area, and pond overlooks. The park includes six trails that all-together total one mile. The trails are gravel paths that are easy to navigate and walk. The trail paths are used for pedestrians and are also wheelchair-accessible. Additionally, there is a designated, paved parking lot, and it is free to access. Woodland Park is the only public park managed by Sussex County.

Woodland Park opened during the summer of 2016. The area had been a golf course, which closed. In 2010, the Army Corps of Engineers dredged the nearby Nanticoke River and deposited dredge material on the back section of the property. As part of the purchase agreement, the county agreed to create a public park on the front 20 acres of the property.

Woodland Park provides a quiet and beautiful experience. The trail paths are all looped and easy to navigate. There are two ponds as well as a historic schoolhouse. However, when planning your trip, keep in mind that there are no bathrooms at the park.
